However, the American 31-year-old will still portray Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

The American Horror Story star was forced to drop out due to her gig performing Much Ado About Nothing alongside Hamish Linklater for Shakespeare in the Park this summer in Manhattan.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate is scrambling to replace the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman (as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee) with CG effects.

Gwendoline follows in the footsteps of her co-star Natalie Dormer – who went from playing Margaery Tyrell on Thrones to Cressida in the Mockingjay films.

According to Suzanne Collins’ books, Christie and Rabe’s character is a past victor and the commander of the rebellion in District 2.

Lyme is described by Katniss as being over six foot tall, middle-aged, very muscular, and with an ‘unforgettable face.’
